RAM Not supported source of all my issues?

Forgiving

So I have an MSI SLI PLUS x370 motherboard and have been having issues with stability with games crashing BSOD and more.....

Well, i talked to a tech about it and it seems that the RAM I have (Corsair 4x 4GB 3000mh) is not supported ...

MN: CMK8GX4M2B3000C15

Supported RAM PAGE: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/X370-SLI-PLUS.html#support-mem-1

and before I buy new ram that is supported I wanted to be sure that this was a huge issue and possible causing all my problems.

thanks in advance.

Wouldn't be surprised. It seems like Ryzen is a bitch when it comes to RAM compatibility. It's probably the first platform I've heard of that it'll almost always throw a hissy fit when "unsupported" RAM is installed.

Right like everything "Works" like boots and stuff but a number of BSOD and game crashes.

MSi is junk when it comes to memory in Ryzen platform, advise to try updating BIOS to the latest version, then once you're done overclock the memory to 2933mhz only try it out if it still crashes try 2666mhz if it stables there you can keep it as is, but if you keep having issues you believe are from RAM, try shopping specifically Samsung B-Die modules from whatever brand aside Kingston and ADATA.

If you keep have issues consider getting an actual x370 reliable board like the Asus Prime Pro.

The ASUS Prime X370-Pro seems like a great board and it supports my current memory, in your opinion do you think i should grab this or the new ram? Just wondering if i would have less problems with a new board.

Between exchanging the RAM or the Motherboard I would personally get the new motherboard.

if possible try and swap ram with someone that has a set on the list and see if that resolves the issue. Rigth now ram prices are high so why spend money on a new kit unless you know for sure it the ram.

By now just about any ram should be fine with ryzen to at least 2666mhz

I just put a set of Ripjaws 4 3000mhz intel x99 optimized  2x8 in an Asus Rog B50-F gaming and they are running stable at 2933mhz. under all stability test so far.
