This might be a stupid question, but is it possible to run two Nvidia GPU's in SLI on an AM4 socket motherboard? Or do I need to use an Intel socket board that supports SLI?

Like @dizmo said, it depends on the mobo.

What mobo you got?

Main Laptop: Google Pixelbook

You missed the first part though, which is don't bother with SLI

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

SLI?

x370 chipset, avoid MSi boards.

Think this through as well since SLI'ing is not the wonderland it seems, you should only go for it when you already own the highest end single GPU in my honest opinion, unless you find some deal on say second hand 980 Ti's or something well priced... just be aware you need a good PSU and obviously a display that justifies the horsepower.

It also has to be an X370 board that supports SLI. And crossfire support doesn’t mean SLI support

unless you’re going SLI 1080tis you’re wasting your time with SLI

That's an F in the profile pic
