I think it will be a slightly redesigned cooler and higher factory OC. So nothing a normal Xp can't achieve.

my guess is that its a full die, 16GB GDDR5X and then the Titan Xp PCB, or at least similar. Cooler is going to be slightly different and be LED lit, probably RGB

This will never happen, would cannibalize the much more expensive Quadro P5000 for professional workloads that requires the 16gb of vram.

and its aiming toward gamer not content creator with the rgb cooler so no point of making a more expensive titan, doesnt cost more to put a fat chip on a 1080ti pcb so im sure its gonna be something like that. titan Xp sells must have drop so they are trying to use the chip my guess

and they put some rgb to bait the 1080ti-1080 users to switch, I cant see an other scenario than this, not to mention with less vram/bus probably gonna up the clock with the little power they re saving

Most likely because any thing higher than 12gb on the line up as is now would render the much more overpriced 3k~5k dollars P5000 and P6000 pointless as their main selling deal aside the usual driver support, validations and other Quadro deals is the extra vram they pack.
