I'm making an emulator console. What distro should I use?

So i'm running this entire small console off a raspberry pi and I need some help deciding which distro I should use for the most ease of access with a controller/ mouse and keyboard. Thats mouse and keyboard to navigate to game and then controller to play game. I was thinking of just running with ubuntu but I know this is going to be shown to a lot of native windoze users and some mac users as well. So many distros, send help.

Retropi has a dozen or so built in, what do you want to run?

System specs:

4790k

GTX 1050

16GB DDR3

Samsung evo SSD

a few HDD's

The pi doesn't have the power for dolphin, pcsx1 or 2 dreamcast and xbox

It sometimes struggles with N64 depending on the game. Keep it to older consoles and it will work great (NES, snes, GBA, Genesis, etc)

Here's the list of built in emulators: https://retropie.org.uk/about/systems/

Please note that it has some emulators that the current versions of the pi can't handle.

You are wrong about pcsx1 :) it works pretty well on Rpi3

Computer users fall into two groups:
those that do backups
those that have never had a hard drive fail.
