Flashing LG Flatron on startup

I have had this issue for a while but now its just annoying! Whenever I turn on my PC and my monitor "turns on" it flashes on and off repeatedly for about 20 minutes before working properly. I've done a little research and it sounds like it could be a blown capacitor in the monitor but I have no clue, any help would be greatly  appreciated!
