My dream case would

  • cost around US $80-100 or so
  • fit in the case cubby hole in some older computer desks that were designed for traditional tower cases (or in places designed for HTPC style)
  • be primarily black with a subtle design (like Fractal Design, or Corsair Carbide/Obsidian cases)
  • If it has LED fans / lighting, they can be turned off with a hardware switch (so they don't flash on when powering the computer on, THEN bios or the OS tells them to turn off)
  • optionally, the lights would be RGB
  • It would SIMULTANEOUSLY support all the following components (no "if you remove the upper drive cage you can fit X length video card, or can fit Y radiator")
    • quad- or octa-socket motherboard with at least 8, preferably 12 or 16, DIMM slots per socket
    • four triple-100+mm-fan GPUs like MSI-GTX-1080-Ti-GAMING-X-TRIO-6.jpg.8555d4c351b2958f3deba92ca3497ea8.jpg (maybe even per CPU socket)
    • a dedicated 4-fan radiator like 59e602d0be623_obsidian-900d-19-614x2504-fanradiator.jpg.7372c35088847fae20f6035f45eac5c1.jpg for each CPU and GPU die (so for example 6 radiators for an Epyc 7601 and a Radeon Pro Duo Polaris; btw I thought there was an at-least-rumored Vega-based dual-GPU workstation card?)
    • A ton of hard drives, for example 598d6cc2609ae_PP88KHDDsSSDs-2017-08-10-a-spreadonfloor(2dads).thumb.jpg.96161dd0bbcbe21e92c0245481c043ea.jpg plus plenty of room for future additions
    • several 8-port (or more) SATA/SAS HBAs
    • enough PCIe/M.2 SSDs for quad-parity RAID & enough striping to match the speed of VRAM on a 1080 Ti or Titan Xp
    • dual (or, if necessary, triple or quad) PSUs (although my dream system would be efficient enough so that parts would be low wattage, nothing even needing a heatsink, while still having performance that would make "mainstream" / "HEDT" / mid-range servers look like 40-year-old then-considered-crap systems :P)
  • Oh, and highly modular.  If I only need a mini ITX motherboard with an M.2 SSD and will be using an iGPU, I could make it really small; or, if I need a full server cabinet, I'd have that flexibility as well. :)

Of course, that would be a dream case, not something that I can realistically buy today. :o

Perfect case would be two Thermaltake Core X9's stacked on top of each other or better yet have them welded together and call it a Core X18.

In the bottom most compartment I would have space to mount 2 quad 120 rads then on top of that just as many HDD's as I can get the motherboard to support with SATA controller cards.

The middle compartment would be for the PSU or PSUs if I needed one to run the Delta fans I would be using.

Main motherboard compartment with horizontally mounted EATX motherboard.

Then my rewrite-able Blu-Ray player.

"The Codex Electronica does not support this overclock."

Rack mount gaming case that's trasparent top and front.  Have fans front and back with hot swap drive bays on either side of the case.  So i just have to take off my rack panel to access drives.

I have a 48 u rack and would love to mount it in but with gaming aestetics.

I want an M1A1 Abrams as my PC case. Tons of room for expansion, highly mobile, and guaranteed to crush the competition in BF1 and World of Tanks.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

Feature list (note, idealy this wouldn't cost much, but to expect this to cost as much as an s340 elite is delusional. This would easily be a $250 case)

(This would also be for a series of case, not one case, as I'm speaking on a recommending basis)

  • USB 3.1 gen2 (type C, most type C cases on the market are 3.1 gen 1 which is the same speed as 3.0)
  • Full I/O, ideally 4 USB3.0's and the aforementioned type C (Cosmos C700P). When VR becomes more prevalent, HDMI pass through (S340 Elite)
  • A I R F L O W, Either front mesh, or complete side and top ventilation (at least an inch gap) with a clear front panel (basically Meshify C or 460x)
  • Full dust filters everywhere, magnetic and without frame where possible (top/front) and front accessible bottom filter
  • Full PSU shroud/basement, with a cutout for showing off that hella quality PSU you bought because you actually pay attention to the PSU tier list
  • Though I personally have no use or it, dual 360mm rad support, potentially one in push pull
  • In absence of a push pull front RAD and extremely long GPU's, modular HDD bays (Phanteks Series)
  • Show off SSD locations on the PSU shroud (Nzxt S340)
  • Exceptional cable management like Fractal Design Define Series (every hole grommeted)
  • Up to E-ATX Support with proper room for cables to utilize aforementioned grommets in this form factor
  • PSU bracket for easy installation (so you dont have to take half the case apart like the H500P >:()
  • A better TG mounting method than four thumb screws, or one hella loose screw at the top (In Win series did it well)
  • GPU vertical mount that comes with the damn PCI-E riser, and isnt too close to the glass that it cant breathe (also being mindful of Air Coolers and taller custom PCB GPU designs)
  • Invert-able Mobo tray, a one of a kind feature that I wish was more prevalent for those looking for right side facing builds (Dark Base Pro 900)
  • Integrated RGB, but not LED strips. I'm talking in the power button, HDD activity light, maybe the company logo, under case lighting, and that can function on its own or plug into the motherboard. This does not included interior lighting, as I assume most of us would rather customize that to our own liking anyways.
  • Color options. If we're not gonna build RGB, just give us a solidly colored case, and not "half and half" black and whatever other color. Some cases get close but have not enough color options (just black, blue, red and white) or only do an exterior or accent components (DBPro 900, P400, S340, H_00i series) The Define R5 White is the only case where the only black thing in it is the rubber grommets, (even those can be colored though like the DBPro 900)
  • Optional GPU support bracket... Have you seen the GPU Sag on most 1080ti's? (Strix, Aorus, etc)

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Again this would be a series of case I could recommend universally that would fit any usage of ATX and up boards where size isnt an issue, as this would be a full tower case for sure.
