Awesome. Make sure to quote us so we get a notification you replied though. What res do you want to play at? If your $1000 budget is for the PC, screen, mouse, and keyboard, then I'd recommend playing at 1080p so you can save some cash (hehe, I have a 6c/12t CPU and 980 Ti, and still play on a $99 1080p screen). If the $1000 is only for the PC, you could make a rig that can handle 1440p or 4K if you play optimized games like Battlefront/Battlefield and such on medium, which will still look great on 4K.

The budget is for the computer as a whole, and I use old laptops that cant run flash games, my head wont even wrap around the idea of 4k graphics    xD

I'm about to make my first computer, and I have know clue what a reasonable range between bad and godly computers are, what I'm saying is I don't know what to get when I'm buying parts for a computer

I don't want to get something realy good when I'm not trying to do things like video editing. but I also don't want a computer that doesn't work what so ever

(Context: I'm making a gaming PC)

I never have made a computer so I don't know whats aiming to high and whats aiming to low, that's what I need help with

My budget for the whole thing is $1000

Hehe, then 1080p should blow your mind, especially in well done games. Any screen at or below 22" will look plenty sharp enough at 1080p, so you should be good. I'll get working on one when I get home, then I gotta test out the new Battlefront 2 beta.

"For the whole thing" - does this include a monitor?

Your also going to need to list exactly what you want to do with it: Do you care at all how it looks or sounds? Do you only care about performance or would you like a nice looking PC too? What are you going to be doing - games (if so which games) are you editing, etc

Main Rig

CPU: Ryzen 2700X
Cooler: Corsair H150i PRO RGB 360mm Liquid Cooler

Just a standard wired keyboard, nothing fancy :)

There is a slimmer version for like $2 less as well.

Definitely feel free to ask questions :)

It's not perfect but it's a good starting point, wasn't sure about desk size and available space so the monitor could be shrunk down to a 24", depending on your situation.
