Delidded CPU too much liquid metal on die effects?

What effects can it have on a delidded cpu if there is too much liquid metal on the die? can temperatures be high if yes then how high roughly?

@Shadowman, It will spread on the other parts and short or kill the CPU. Liquid metal should be used in very small doses because it is designed to be spread on by the user. Go to YT and then GamerNexxus and research his liquid metal on naked dye for more.

A water-cooled mid-tier gaming PC.

good question and i'm not 100% sure.

with just normal thermal paste like mx-4 if you apply to much it won't effect temps because the pressure of the IHS on the die will force any extra paste of to the sides.

i assume this will happen with metal liquid as well.

if you're worried about using to much you can get some kapton tape to cover of any other components like the capacitors ( also nail polish works to cover up capacitors. )

what effects can it have? i don't think temps will go up

only effect will be spilling the liquid metal on the pcb/capacitors.

Too much liquid metal may cause spill and shorting the caps near the CPU die or eating the solder on the caps which will make them loose and fall off if you don't take any precautions.

It shouldn't lead to bad temperatures.
