I can get the Acer Predator XB241H 24" 144Hz-180Hz G-sync enabled gaming monitor for $320.94 shipped after discounts on Jet. Should I go for that vs getting the older $250 ASUS VG248QE 144Hz monitor?

Get the Predator simply for the G-Sync, if the price is right for you. G-Sync is nice for higher frame rates.

My old LG E2360V LED 23" Widescreen 1920x1080 LCD 60Hz Monitor is starting to repeatedly flash its LG startup logo when powering on. It's happened twice over the weekend so I think it's time to buy a new display. I'm thinking about getting a 24" monitor 144Hz. What's good out there that isn't too expensive around $200 or so? I want a matte finish no glossy plastic dust magnets like the one I have now. Not sure if I want a curved display and don't really need built-in speakers. I'm playing Quake Champions right now. My video card is an EVGA Nvidia GTX 980 Ti Classified.

You have precisely about one good option, this 1080p 144hz TN display from AOC, has free-sync but will work fine. the stand is highly adjustable. $200 on amazon

There may also be some korean monitor options as well.

Standard Korean monitor issues may apply but it is a VA 1080p 144hz display at $250.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

The VG248QE is a very old model, it's a bad value since there are much better options for the same price. The ViewSonic XG2401 would be my recommendation.
