What graphics card can my 8 year old PC support without too much bottlenecking?

You should probaly lock before yesterday repeats itself

If the CPU doesn not hit 99 percent then it is not a Cpu bottleneck

Why is this even a applicable statement. The 8350 hits 99 percent wheras the 4790k does not

in games where an 8350 would have 40fps and only 30% cpu usage

intel 4790k could have 80fps with 30% usage.... it doesnt matter believe as u want and lock is not required because i simply just ignore yo, u can believe what u want lmao im done with u

that aint even a benchmark its just to compare

Dude its a set of benchmarks comparing against one another.  And it's a poor benchmark.

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

cpu usage WELL BELOW even 50% ect , intel ahead by FAR because of single thread performance, everyone knows in rendering that the 8350 is way stronger ( multithreaded ) aswell ... lol :P

that's not true, you can easily have a CPU bottleneck with less than 100% used.  Best way to judge a CPU bottleneck is actually with GPU usage.  You want to make sure GPU usage is hitting 100%.

Consider a game that only uses 4 threads running on an octa-core CPU.  It will show 50% usage but not be able to run the game any faster.

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Short said, is it worth for OP to upgrade hes 770gtx using hes i7 960.... NO IT IS NOT

he should upgrade hes cpu aswell if he wants a better gpu, because the 770 is already beeing bottlenecked in some parts with the i7 960

OP should save his money, dont waste any money on upgrades yet , and just upgrade when he actually does have a proper upgrade for it

unless OP wants to get a tiny improvements first in that case he can decide to buy a gpu first... but to get actual benefit of the new gpu op would need a better cpu

i am recommended for op NOT to upgrade at all... nor buy a cpu or a gpu.... upgrade when he is ready in the future... op can easily last a few years with hes current set... i never stated he should BUY stuff... i am against OP buying stuff because if he buys a gpu he wont get the benefit from it that much, if he buys a cpu... neither will he get much benefit from it ( the bottleneck on the 770gtx isnt too heavy )   but the upgraded gpu will be bottlenecked by that cpu alot

even if it would be a better value to get a gpu first...

it is not recommended to buy anything... its not worth the money to upgrade the gpu even, all it does is make hes bottleneck worse

Just get a GPU upgrade. Nobody is denying that there'll be numerous situations where you'll get a CPU bottleneck, but you're going to get a performance boost either way.

will op get a performance boost, yes

but his minimum fps will remain around the same(due to cpu bottlenecking), thus it wouldnt be worth the money

i dont see this as an argument, i simply correct things that are stated that are wrong information such as

if your cpu isnt 100% it doesnt bottleneck your gpu  < which is total bollocks for example

dw lol
