im writing about (the Marketing Mix *If you know what that means*)  Apples main 2 competitors.

The 2 i picked was Samsung and Google as Apples main competitors.

 

The question i have is who owns Android? i thought it was Samsung? 

pls help me im 1300 words deep and need some help LMAO

There's this helpful resource, it's called Wikipedia, you may have heard about it.

Android is an open source software, meaning no one owns it: Google mostly oversees it though.

Apple's biggest competitors are likely more like Microsoft and Samsung, since Google is not really in the market of selling hardware (maybe other than Google Pixel devices and maaaaybe Chromebooks you might argue) and Apple mostly is.

Microsoft is also a way better example of a software competitor than Google, because Windows.

Google bought Android from Android Inc in 2005, Samsung only creates skins and modifies Android.

Not quite. Google does own it, as it's a mix of free, proprietary and open sourced software. Eg: Google Services.

If you are really wanting to a do a comparison it should be Samsung vs Apple for phone vs phone since they lead those markets and Microsoft vs Apple for OS vs OS or PC vs PC. Google really isn't up against apple in anything other than who has more money at this point. They're both tech companies but don't take part in manufacturaing the same types of tech other than Google having the Pixel (chromebooks don't count, they garbo).

Android is owned by google, however they have made it open source so that anyone can modify it.

 

Samsung basically takes android and then modifies it a bunch (since it's open source) and then puts it in their phones.
