Polygon changes BF4 Review Score. 4/10

wolfson steve

They originally gave the game a 7.5/10.

But because it's almost a full month after release, and still doesn't work, and there's no signs of DICE being confident they can fix the issues, they've now given the game a:

4/10

Wow. I haven't had a "4/10" experience, but can't say I fault them.

If you have extra SSD space... MOVE IT. I find that when attacking I can usually plant one, if not both bombs before the other team arrives in rush. Basically cheating  :P

Are you running it from an SSD? I am and my loading screen is like 30 seconds-1 min MAX. The only problems for me are the occasional crash but those are actually becoming quite rare these days, still happen though. And also, I can't play shanghai specifically without crashing.

As long as Mantle is any good, it'll be alright.

That doesn't have anything to do with the quality of gameplay or the fact that the game is broken to shit because Dice can't work fast enough. Several of my friends have refunded their game because it's unplayable for them.

OP, you should really link your sources and not your own website, or at least have the source on your website.

There's a big update coming in the next 12hrs :)

Dec 3 PC Game Update Notes
Removed the blur effect on soldiers that appeared when Commanders were using EMP attacks
- Fixed the audio bug where audio sometimes randomly dropped out while playing on certain multiplayer maps (typically Golmud Railway and Hainan Resort)
- Fixed the "one-hit kill bug" where occasionally damage from a single bullet was applied multiple times
- Fixed a common crash that would occur when exiting from the Single Player Campaign to Main Menu
- Tweaked the network and computer performance screen to show proper values. Players can now test their computer and network connection and get recommendations if they need to adjust something to improve their gameplay experience

The reason its having so much trouble is because EA made dice release the game before they were ready to beat CoD Ghosts

Considering Ghosts is just another rebadge from that copy paste factory called infinity ward BF4 didn't have to do much to be better than Ghosts, that being said though they still managed to fk it up and release a subpar product. Still both games are far from any good, they are just more of the same crap the industry has been pushing out for years. I'm glad I finally got to the point where I had enough with these boring gray and brown military shooters before I was suckered into buying either of these piles of fecal matter. I'll stick to the good first person shooters while the rest of you play your DPPFFRWSIWWBTONOTMTWHAAFAPAHD Shooters (Deranged Paranoid Power Fantasy For Right Wing Shut In's Who Would Blow Their Own Nuts Off The Moment They Were Handed An Actual Firearm And Probably Already Have Done)

I haven't had too many problems since switching to Windows 8.1 which completely removed the stuttering I was having. Game runs great very few crashes can't wait and see what the new patch brings today.

You can't get 120Hz ones of those anymore they were only overclockable on the 2b board and those have been discontinued

You can easily OC these to at least 110Hz. Discontinued? I dont think so...

But those arent really game breaking, like at launch. I dont think it deserves a 4/10 but hey thats why i dont work with polygon xD

Having no sound, dying instantly and crashing whenever the map is Siege of Shanghai are kind of frustrating for a AAA game that costs as much as it does...

lol, I'm pretty sure the quality of gameplay is worth ~8... They only changed the score because "the game is broken to shit because Dice can't work fast enough."

While Mantle is an AMD only thing now, if it works out, I'll be happy.
