What kind of headphones?  do they have a removable cover?  What are they made of?

Generally speaking,  you can use laundry detergent, but you want to hand clean the foamy parts if its removable. Cold water, in a bowl

Okay cool, yeah those are removable.

Get a bowl,  put a little bit of cleaner ( or laundry detergant)  soak, squish, rinse.  wash out with water do this twice,  and let them sun dry.  If you want to speed up the drying process,  hang em on a fan, but don't stick em in the drying machine.  You just want to be careful if they're using any kind of Faux leather stuff.  That peels like a mother.

"dying corpse". But a corpse is, by definition, already dead.

Luckily it looks like your headphones have replaceable pads for both the ear cups and the headband. I'd suggest buying a new set and maybe washing the others. If the new ones start to smell, swap them out and wash them and keep cycling like that.

I'd love to know how you know what a corpse smells like.

Just an exaggeration

How do I clean the headband at the top? I believe it's removeable

Same process.  The top part is held by Velcro i believe.  Be careful when removing the buds though.  You don't want to rip the pieces that are hanging on the the plastic parts.  Just be gentle like sempai and you should be okay.  When doing this stuff though make sure you use enough detergent, and you let them sit in the soapy mix for 5 minutes or so.  squeeze,  rinse and repeat.

You could try freezing and defrosting them, assuming the ear pads are removable.

It works with my work boots.

If it was me, I'd prefer using a type of headphones that DON'T make me sweat,  or don't trap sweat I may produce anyway, even when the ambient temperature is like 104-122°F / 40-50°C. :o

I remember visiting a church friend once many years ago (I think before PCI Express & SATA & LGA sockets were invented), who had some form of cancer that was (I think) fairly advanced.  The smell was not pleasant.
