Budget 4K Media PC

Hello All,

 

I've been creating online shopping carts of different parts to put together a 4K Media PC and would love some insight of the best way to go.

 

I'm looking to play local 4K video files smoothly, currently my files are only at about 30fps, but I would like to have something that would do 60fps without an issue.

 

 

Extra items I already have:

4GB DDR2

4GB DDR3

300w PSU

Nvidia GT 710

Multiple cases i could fit just about anything into.

 

I've been thinking about going with a Intel Xeon X5650 and a Dell Precision T3500 v2 System Board from eBay for around $70 to throw into my mix of parts to build something that will work.

 

What are your thoughts? Is this even worth my time trying? 

 

Maybe you have built something or have a decent idea of a build that would work?

getting a cheap kabylake Pentium would be the best idea, it has hardware 4k decoding support.
