FE is loudest out of all cards. It's the stock card with stock cooler with stock everything.

 

I suggest to buy Hybrid card if you'd like quietness and low temperatures or ASUS card if you'd like better overclocking and quieter operation.

All reference coolers with their radial fans are loud as hell, and quite frankly don't cool as well as AIB cards, but yields the most consistent result for any case/build, and is easy for SI's to integrate.

Just buy SC2 1080 TI. Futureproof yourself, and get the frames. Enjoy.

1070, or 1080. Whatever gives better performance per Dollar/Euro.

If there's 50 bucks more for a 1080, get it.

 

do NOT get a 1080 ti, if you only use 1080p. You will sit in a CPU Bottleneck in most modern titles. 1080 ti has SO much performance, the CPU can't keep up.

And you won't have 30-40% more performance compared to 1080, but only 10-20% more. Or nothing at all, depending on Game.

 

As long you still use a pixely 1080p Monitor, max GTX 1080 (which is fine because it's 144 Hz Monitor, otherwise max 1070 with 60 Hz, or even 1060).

 

Save the Money. You can NOT "use" the Power of a 1080 ti with that Monitor, unless you use DSR for a higher resolution.

If you are doing 1080p 144hz...

 

Noise will likely NOT be an issue due to very low GPU utilization, with my 1080Ti at 1440p most games only use 50-70% of the gpu's performance, it literally just pokes along at 1400-1500 mhz (normally 2ghz) so it produces very little heat due to the low voltage requirements at that clock speed.

 

If you can afford the 1080Ti and you want it, go for it, it will give you future proofing/monitor upgrade headroom to work with and will likely be VERY quiet due to underutilization.

That has nothing to do with 1080p ;-)

 

What you describe is a HARD Bottleneck. Either by a completely weak CPU (like FX 4100 or something lol), or, more likely, an FPS-Limiter, like V-Sync.

 

if your 1080 ti can push 100 fps, but you have a 60 Hz Monitor, and sync it to 60 fps, then of course, your GPU will only use up 60%~ usage, and not even Overclock to the highest state.

 

Disable V-Sync / fps Limiter, and you will have an almost 80-100% usage. Except, your CPU sucks donkeyballs, and you play CPU-Heavy games.
