Ive been thinking about windows mobile...

If Microsoft had added cross platform texting like Apple has with imessage it would have provided some great value to the platform. As a past windows mobile user who enjoyed it, i would totally go back if this was a feature that was polished enough for simple use

I use sms via my pc, it all appears on my L950xl ....

You can also install Cortana on Android and send and receive SMS from Windows 10. Once Cortana is installed it more or less acts like Pushbullet.

Requirements:

  1. You need Windows 10 on your PC and Windows 10 Mobile on your phone.
  2. You need a Skype account linked to Microsoft account if its not already (if you use your e-mail to login with your credentials in Skype, it already is :) )
  3. You need a Microsoft linked account that is the same on your Windows 10 PC and Phone
  4. You need Skype UWP app


Setup Steps:

  1. On your phone, go to Setting > System > Messaging. Then under "Default app", you need to set Skype
  2. Start Skype UWP on your Windows 10 PC, click on your profile picture, then on Settings. Scroll down under "SMS" section, and enable it. A code will shortly display.
  3. On your phone, start Skype, click on your profile picture at the top, then on Settings. Go down under the SMS section, enable it, pick our PC name, enter the code you see on Skype on your PC (or was it the reverse? Sorry I forgot, but pass the number from one to the other). Once done, your Skype SMS will sync on both your phone and PC, and you can send SMS from your PC.

Yea, but its not complete. You can't view conversation history, you can't pick a contact and chat just like that. It is coming, but not there yet.

It utilizes skype to handle the syncing process. You get the option to Skype or SMS someone.

 

You can also do this with iOS or Android and your Win10 pc. Through Cortana.
