Please criticize my HTPC/guest build

if your going for the budget side of things, just get  a 1060 instead of a 1050ti

its under 750 like 712 of you drop the ram it gose to 630/650 maby get a motherbord whit u.2 slot and grap a extra u.2 ssd

No, i meant on the list, sorry for any confusion. If you look at my quote of @overturnedv1 he originally had suggested lowering my RAM to 8GB, but that was what I had on the list already.

I'd like to keep 8GB of RAM, but U.2 seems like a good idea. I'll keep that in mind.

Pardon me if I'm out of the loop, but why? I was under the impression that all the 3GB ones perform only marginally better than a 1050ti for ~$70+ more, and the 6GB ones are $300+.

@Natsoup It's not bad for the price, but I would recommend a Ryzen 5 1600 with a B350 board instead of the i5. It's much better

I don't think the Wraith cooler fits the Node 202. Any recommendations on a cooler?

I think I can work that out, I have a few 2.5" hard drives that I could pop in there. Isn't 1060 3gb and 1050ti similar in performance? Also, If I were to keep the 1050ti as the albeit minor bottleneck, I can keep that Samsung SSD in there for still less money ($821), as suggested by @PCGuy_5960. Link is below.

That looks fine, I'm not sure anout Gigabyte mobos though, whereas I trust ASrock more and know that they work very well.. your choice though. Other than that it looks fine, as you said not much difference between 1050ti and 1060, I would choose the 1060, but more for using extra CUDA cores than anything, don't think it'll benefit in games though

Yeah, I think I'll stick to my 1070 rig for CUDA power. Not really what I'm looking for here. IDK about Gigabyte mobos, I only have experience with MSI. And their customer service sucks.

Damn, forgot... you can also ditch the extra cooler if you want then, to save another $30+, but that cooler is pretty nice.

Or switch that i5 for an G4560 and get a GTX 1060 which is still somewhat balanced enough...
