MSI gaming app using wine on ubuntu 16.04

Hi,

I am currently trying to install the MSI gaming app on ubuntu using wine. I have a MSI gtx 1060 and a pentium g4560. I get this:

fixme:heap:HeapSetInformation 0x240000 0 0x23fc70 4
fixme:heap:HeapSetInformation 0x240000 0 0x23fc70 4
err:setupapi:do_file_copyW Unsupported style(s) 0x144
err:setupapi:do_file_copyW Unsupported style(s) 0x144
err:setupapi:do_file_copyW Unsupported style(s) 0x144
fixme:heap:HeapSetInformation 0x240000 0 0x23fc70 4
fixme:heap:HeapSetInformation 0x240000 0 0x23fc70 4
err:setupapi:do_file_copyW Unsupported style(s) 0x144
err:setupapi:do_file_copyW Unsupported style(s) 0x144
err:setupapi:do_file_copyW Unsupported style(s) 0x144
err:setupapi:do_file_copyW Unsupported style(s) 0x144
err:setupapi:do_file_copyW Unsupported style(s) 0x144
err:setupapi:do_file_copyW Unsupported style(s) 0x144

The "unsupported styles line repeats a lot and the terminal is unable to complete the command so just stays open. It then says this after quite a while:

^Cfixme:console:CONSOLE_DefaultHandler Terminating process 24 on event 0
fixme:console:CONSOLE_DefaultHandler Terminating process 8 on event 0
fixme:console:CONSOLE_DefaultHandler Terminating process 34 on event 0

Does anyone have any experience/tips regarding this? All advice would be greatly appreciated. I have some linux knowledge but it is fairly basic and I haven't used wine very much.

May I ask why you would want to run the MSI gaming app in the first place?

GPU lighting: I can't control it without the software and don't like the default lighting. Also, I was wondering about MSI applications in wine since I am planning to get a msi motherboard with integrated wifi and Bluetooth and using it on ubuntu

WiFi and Bluetooth should be easy to setup without the use of wine. As for your Gaming app issue I am afraid I cannot help you. Sorry.

OK. No worries. I think I'll just leave it for now and have a look later

You might not need MSI app. Sometimes LED show up as a device somewhere. I echo a number into a /dev to change my keyboard LEDs.

When I web search "msi rgb linux /dev" I get some potentially useful hits.
