Corsair h100i v2

Hi guys,

I have a quick question. I just bought this water cooler corsair h100i v2 to replace my 212 evo.

Question is : The h100i comes with already applied thermal paste. Is it good ? Should I replace it ? I have artic silver 5 in stock at home.

Should I remove the stock thermal paste and use Artic Silver instead ?

i've always applied my own as a way to ease my own mind. there's no telling how long that paste has been on there exposed to air, and i know my fresh application is solid.

I would remove it and apply my own.

Anyone else can confirm they would do the same ?

You seem to have experience with that AIO,

Can you suggest me 2 fans to buy ? I want low noise don't care about price

I also see on youtube that artic silver 5 is not that great, I see MX4 being 1-2 degree colder,

Also very suprised as in this video it shows cooler master stock thermal paste is better than both artic silver 5 and mx4 ?

What thermal paste you guys use ?

performance / noise

the standard fans                     ( 37,7dB 2500rpm airflow 70,6cfm  )

the nf f12 pwm                         ( 22,4 dB 1500rpm airflow 93,4cfm )

the noctua industrial versions ( ca 29,7dB with 2000rpm airflow 121,8cfm )

personally i took that ugly beige noctua nf f12 ^^ because i dont mind, but if i´d get hands on the black version i swap em

ek vardar or bequiet silent wings3 and many other are great too

I agree that these stats tells a lot... I will change the fans for sure. NF F12 seems good, I like low noise.

I'll have a look at this thx

I found this :

https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16835103091

Very cheap, 10$ fans, but stats :

2000 RPM
Air Flow
69.69 CFM
Noise Level
19 dBA

That seems amazing ? Anything I need to know ? Does that would fit well my h100i ?

It seems very cheap 10$ but has amazing stats 70 CFM for 19 dBA

What do I need to know ?

Noctua NF-F12 fans are pretty popular and quiet. If you want to stick with the same color scheme then you can consider the Corsair ML series fans (magnetic levitation bearings) which are also pretty quiet.

Just keep in mind that the fans should be below 0.25A (<3W) each (keep the total for all fans below 0.6A) or you'll overpower the AIO which has a max of 1.0A (recommended max of 0.8A) for the fans+pump+LED.

Having issues with a Corsair AIO? Possible fix here:

Spoiler

Are you getting weird fan behavior, speed fluctuations, and/or other issues with Link?

Are you running AIDA64, HWinfo, CAM, or HWmonitor? (ASUS suite & other monitoring software often have the same issue.)

Corsair Link has problems with some monitoring software so you may have to change some settings to get them to work smoothly.

-For AIDA64: First make sure you have the newest update installed, then, go to Preferences>Stability and make sure the "Corsair Link sensor support" box is checked and make sure the "Asetek LC sensor support" box is UNchecked.

-For HWinfo: manually disable all monitoring of the AIO sensors/components.

-For others: Disable any monitoring of Corsair AIO sensors.

That should fix the fan issue for some Corsair AIOs (H80i GT/v2, H110i GTX/H115i, H100i GTX and others made by Asetek). The problem is bad coding in Link that fights for AIO control with other programs. You can test if this worked by setting the fan speed in Link to 100%, if it doesn't fluctuate you are set and can change the curve to whatever. If that doesn't work or you're still having other issues then you probably still have a monitoring software interfering with the AIO/Link communications, find what it is and disable it.
