Theory about status updates

piemadd

Ok. I have a theory about status updates. If you click "hide" on all of your replies to a status, can you remove notifications? i did that and haven't gotten any more, so this might be the way to "unfollow" a status update.

i like trains 🙂

I think I was disappointed to find that it didn't work when I tried it a while back, though it may have changed now.

Though it is unlikely to make it in time for the next update, I have been working on some (incredibly hacky code-wise) solutions to the status update notification problem. I've been running into lots of problems though, hence the incredibly hacky part, so it really is quite unlikely that it will make it for the September*†‡ [whatever other footnote symbols there are] update.

There'll be a beta starting later this week probably, once I have time to sort a couple of things out.

Also would it be possible to group the notification for replies to the same status update?

Instead of

User1 replied to a status update

User2 replied to a status update

User3 replied to a status update

User4 replied to a status update

User2 replied to a status update

User1 replied to a status update

User2 replied to a status update

User5 replied to a status update

User3 replied to a status update

User2 replied to a status update

User3 replied to a status update

User2 replied to a status update

It would be

User1, User2, User3, User4 and User5 replied to a status update, some multiple times.

Or something like that.

That would be part of my changes, but there will be no (significant) status update changes in the upcoming update.
