Battlefield 1 low fps

Shreyas1

I have a gtx 1070 and an  i5 6500, and im only getting 70 fps max, with the fps dipping below 55 at times. Resolution is 1080p, dx11, and memory restriction turned off. Around the start of the year, I got closer to around 80 - 90 fps at all times and this problem only occurs on the Argonne forest map.

Could you list your full graphics settings?

Judge a product on its own merits AND the company that made it.

Oneplus 6 (Early 2023 to present) | HP Envy 15" x360 R7 5700U (Mid 2021 to present) | Steam Deck (Late 2022 to present)

Think indeed AA could be the problem. Especially in Argonne Forrest with all those edges.

K I will try that

I might as well get another game lol. Why does a game need so many threads in the first place?

i don't know much about how taxing AA is in BF1 but I'd suggest lowering the AA setting and checking performance then.

To be fair, one could argue that you bought the wrong CPU for your GPU.

An i5 can bottleneck a GTX 1070 in some situations.

People buying GTX x70 or x80 GPUs tend to buy more expensive CPUs.

Thats just nonsense^ People are overthinking this

Well since it only happens on 1 map and it was fine at start of the year. The speccs arent that relevant. Perhaps a setting or update has changed the performance, or possible driver. But Argonne Forrest has insane amount of edges and corners, plus all the sunrays and shadows/light density. I would first look into the AA, then shadow/lightning.

And it only happens on that map, and its the only map that has that kind of environment.

Well it just happened on Amiens too.

if anything, it's probably a CPU problem as I changed the resolution down to 1368 x 768 and had the exact same problem. Or maybe my CPU cooler is bad. It might be my psu though ( I have an EVGA 600b )

Well i fixed it

I underclocked my gpu then set the fps target to 80 or something, and now I have a steady 80 fps
