OC version is cheaper? Why?

I set my eyes on the Asus Dual 1060 6gb but I noticed in some stores (maybe all of them) the OC version is about 20€ cheaper than the non-OC. 

 

So do I pay less for a stable overclock, is there any catch or...?

its just supply-and-demand. some-ones are less accessable in your country than others, meaning a price increase.

so just get the better card, no catch if you buy from a reputable etailer

Probably a difference in stock availability. Prices fluctuate all the time, so sometimes the better versions can be cheaper.

I don't think so. The two are the same. Do note that this model comes with little extra features.

So since I've no experience in overclocking, I should basically just get the OC version, right?

 

Also, if it's supply and demand why would people prefer buying the non OC when you can still overclock the OC? '-'

Usually it's the cheaper one, and people just overclock manually so it doesn't matter if it is the OC version or not.

When you OC manually you will pretty much always get higher than whatever the factory OC is.

 

The non-OC version doesn't mean you can't overclock, it just means it has a lower clock speed from the factory, which doesn't matter when you manually OC it.

GPU Boost 3.0 overclocks the GPU on its own anyway, there's really no need to overclock modern GPUs as they do it themselves anyway. 

 

The non-OC version is normally cheaper, so it gets bought up quicker. When stock is running low, the price may go up or the store may lower the price of the OC version to try to shift that stock instead.

1. Yes, but only because OC version is cheaper

 

2. Idk. Non-OC version (I have the 1070 of the same model, without OC) is about $30 cheaper here.

Ask? and demand... should be supply and demand. Ask and demand are almost the same meaning just FYI.

yeah, i'm not native english and saw the other people say it and i'm to lazy to change it. in dutch it's vraag en aanbod, which means ask and offer, there comes my ask from
