EK just basically confirmed Intel's 8th gen i-series CPUs have at least 6 cores:

Where does it say that they have 6 cores? At least 6?That sounds as if pentiums and celerons will be hexa cores :D

What ever happened to Cascade Lake?

It's the server Platform in 2018. It's the update to Skylake-SP.  It's still coming.

And, yes, Intel's naming is getting nuts.

Cascade Failure jokes coming in 3....2....1.... :P

*just kidding, just kidding*

Wait what? How is ryzen not fully utilized? A 4c4t ryzen 3 is the same as intel's i5 to developers

That's the thing, it's not the same.  It's a very different architecture, requiring a change in the way developers code for it.  Morgan has already pointed out (as quoted below) the difference in caching.  Not to mention the IF interconnect between the CCX's in the die.

2.

That's the problem, you think that Ryzen only has more cores and that's all to it? Ryzen has a new Cache structure as well, just like Skylake-X CPUs.

So, you're saying that Skylake-X doesn't require any, even though it's slower in games (and some other things) than KL?  Because that situation is no different.

Who's talking about Skylake x?Why would anyone buy it for gaming?Every time amd releases something it's "wait for optimisation ", it really ended well for bulldozer users.

We have been, if you'd bothered to read the posts.  The caching structure of SKX isn't too dissimilar to that of Ryzen, and the gaming (and some other apps) performance suffers on it because of that.  Why you're being so intentionally obtuse that you won't see that, is beyond me.
