Hi

Been wanting to do a borderlands 2 themed case build for a year now, and finally got around to it.

This was my current setup

cpu: AMD Ryzen 1700x @ 3.85 Ghz

Mobo: Gigabtye AB350-Gaming

Ram: 16 Gb of Patriot Viper @ 2400 Mhz

Gpu: GTX 1080 with EVGA Hybrid Cooler

Case: Cooler Master N300

CHEEKY GRAPHICAL CALCULATOR TI-83

So the first idea was to get a metal ammo case and mod it so it could hold a computer. This proved not feasible as the sides had no straight edges leading us to go with...

Wooden Ammo Crate

Bit scuffed by hard use but looks AWESOME (used to contain C4 Detonator cables apparently)

We generally had no idea what to really do with it, but we decided on a layer system with psu and hdd on the bottom; and mobo etc on the topreceived_1346323265485032.jpeg.94e9b570c27e3e1db1f748d03abdf0bc.jpeg

Next, we had to plan air flow as we assumed wooden cases would influence temps quite significantly. We decided on a 2 intake, 1 outtake setup on the sides.... having overly overestimated how many fans we would need... and to add more to the top if the temps were bad. Fans were covered with a fine mesh to act as a dust filter to calm you dust fanatics :P .

(I guess you could say I have quite a few FANS of my work B-) )

Side 120mm Fan without cover. The holes were initially going to be circular but I realised it would be easier to do square ones with brackets.

I probably missed a few key changes but I forgot to take pictures (I was a bit excited).

After spending a day tediously cutting out Io holes and sanding it all down, we eventually managed to screw in the mobo into our custom stand offs to gettt......

Now all we need is the ACTUAL graphics card

Pls forgive me for my fudge nipples attempt at cable management

And there we go... Terminator Salvation Mk.2

The next plan is the paint the box black and give it crimson raider stencils over the body and other borderland 2 designs. If anyone has any cool suggestions, give me a shout!

Not bad!

I'd have painted the brackets black and added some trim to the mesh but each to their own.

Well, that just looks freaking awesome. Great project you got there. It would also be interesting to see a PC mounted in a green metal ammo box.
