Consensus on best switch type for gaming and typing

sergerold

I often hear that Cherry Mx Browns/Clears are best for typing and gaming. Can anyone else suggest other switch types good for gaming and typing (not necessarily being a Cherry Mx Switch)?

The best switch for gaming is cherry mx speed/reds, with that said, the difference between even a mx blue keyboard and a red keyboard is tiny, having used both types for at least a year i can honestly say i felt no difference in my gaming ability. With that said blues are the best for typing, and will do fine for gaming, but if you want the "best" switch for gaming speeds or reds.

It's personal preference, really.  Everyone will say reds for gaming blues for typing browns for balance, but really you have to kinda try them all and figure out what you like.   I've tried every color except clears and ended up on Linear Gray, which I had to solder on a board myself.

I like my browns, avoid kaihl if possible (really feel like knockoffs) and the omron switches logitech uses in their keyboards are great.

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious
