Favorite would be Star Wars Battlefront 2! Second Skyrim and third would be either AC4 or Fallout New Vegas!

Oh man, so many good ones already listed.  I'll throw out a few 'nitch' games I've loved over the years.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alternate_Reality_(series) > Specifically "The Dungeon".  Old RPG that had a ton of elements of modern RPGs.  First game I can remember where you'd have factions and your actions affected the later game.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pool_of_Radiance > maybe not a nitch game but love it and got me into D&D and pen and paper games.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starfleet_Command_II > was a really deep, strategic game.  The online 'dynaverse' was multiplayer persistant campaigns.   Was a lot of fun, ship to ship battles could last over an hour.

I think my favourite game now is the Walking Dead (the telltale games one). I think it's really cleverly written, it has a great art style and I've never been so captivated by any other game I've played. And the feels.... ;__;

But for sheer enjoyment I would pick BF3 or Super Meat Boy.

I would probably have to go with GTA Vice City. That game was just plain awesome.

I have maybe 20-30 games I revere and treasure for being timeless classics that had a big impact on me, but if I had to pick one:

Morrowind.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

GTA San Andreas, littreally (or how it is spelled) there started my gaming, being 10 years old and playing SA-MP with friends in a huge computer room was epic.

Need for Speeds ... oh the messing with the cops, drifting, getting pissed at civillians

(and probably more)

I love so much games that have stolen months of my life but GOTHIC is just slightly on the lead. I always come back and enjoy world and whole idea of GOTHIC universe.

Call of Duty 2 favorite FPS.
all time favorite game: Dota 2, nothing is good enough after dota2, it's hard to find a game I can care about enough to play it.

It would have to be gta San Andreas. I had it on the ps2 and I played that game for years. My cousins and I would take turns playing until we died when they came over. Had a huge world to explore and countless (seemed like at the time) things to do. I have probably thousands of hours of enjoyment in it. I never got tired of that game no matter how long a session lasted.

Now I probably put more hours in runescape and socom 2&3. I enjoyed both those games, a lot. But they didn't hold a candle to San Andreas and in my opinion nothing ever will. I grew up with it, it's a game that will always be amazing to me.

For some reason I hear people like Skyrim better, but I liked Oblivion better; I enjoyed the story more than I do with Skyrim.
