Hello, tomorrow I am planning on installing a 850 Evo into my computer.

I picked up some generic cotton gloves for it and want to know if they are safe to use.

My computer will be fully off. All IO will be disconnected, and it will be on a hard wood table with no electronic devices near.

Will this be safe to use?

No use sterile, Lizardskin, Unubtainuim laced gloves only...

Gloves are not required for installing as SSD.

Just use your hands. You don't need gloves to work on a computer, much less for an SSD install.

You should only use snakeskin gloves to install SSDs. For HDDs, gloves made from the skin of any reptile will suffice.

Seriously, though, they're safe but not needed at all unless you just want to avoid leaving fingerprints.

I would classify that as "different" compared to an SSD. You're concerned over the aesthetics of the build, but an SSD? When have you seen a build and thought "WOW! That's a beautiful SSD you've got!"?

You should be fine you can do it with or with out those cloves just touch the pc case before putting in the SSD to discharge your static.

To be fair, some systems use SSDs as one of the main aesthetic pieces. Mine are pretty prominent in my build, so if they were a glossy black or other fingerprint prone surface, I could understand using gloves. I have received similar comments to that on my SSDs in my build

My case has no window, fingerprints do not matter to me.

Just use your hands then, the gloves offer no real benefit. Just avoid touching the contacts directly, but that holds true whether you're wearing gloves or not.
