Difference between 7700 - 7700k

Hi guys, like the title says, i wanted to know if there is really much difference, since i'm not going to overclock it or anything, mostly for light gaming and home office, what you think?

7700k has a slightly higher stock frequency even when not overclocked and no included cooler in the box.

1700 is a 8c/16t CPU that is like a 5960x/6900k with less lanes, 7700k is a mainstream 4c/8t high IPC gaming CPU that can OC higher. 

 

edit- op go for ryzen 1400 or 1600.

For light gaming and home office, get a Ryzen 3 or 5, and they're cheaper.

Honestly the best value cpu on the market is the r5 1600. You may want to consider it as it is quite a bit cheaper than the i7.

None get the i7 7700 with the cheapest mobo you can find or a Ryzen on a b350.

@Everyone saying Ryzen OP asked what the difference was between the 7700 and the 7700k not what cpu he should buy. I agree the 1600 is great but that's not the question here.

If you're not overclocking, a K series chip is pretty pointless. The slight mhz advantage doesn't mean much if you're keeping it stock.

DONT GET THE 7700K. Just get the 7700. If you get the k, overclock it. PERIOD.
