Can you guys tell me what are these errors? and are they normal? I mean i thought this CPU was made for x299 motherboards because the socket is LGA 2066. Tell me ur guys thoughts and opinions pls.

Is there any way for me to use those 8 ram slots? I really wanted to do so by buying 2x (4x8) memory sticks :(.

Motherboard has 8 RAM slots but is CPU limited to 4 slots. 4 additional RAM slots are needed.

2 EPS power connectors are needed. We are currently entering in EPS connector data for power supplies to verify this is compatible. In the meantime, please verify the power supply has sufficient EPS connectors for the motherboard.

The motherboard U.2 port shares bandwidth with SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports. When the U.2 port is used, four SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports are disabled.

Thanks for always helping & answering guys ! :x

With some of the x299 processors you can only use 4 ram slots as it based off the i7-7700k which only has dual channel RAM

7740X only supports dual channel.

If you looked through the spec sheets on launch day, you would have known it only supports have the memory slots in a system. If you have 2 slots, only 1 will work. 4, only 2 will work, etc.

Add on the fact that the 7740X was a rebrand of the 7700K with a slight overclock of 100mhz...

That means i have to go with

Intel Core i7-7820X Skylake-X 8-Core/16-Thread Processor
Socket LGA 2066, 3.6 GHz Base/ 4.3(4.5) GHz Max Turbo Frequency, 14nm

if i want to use all the 8 ram slots? but this is not even what i preffered, i wanted a i7 core with good GHz base like the 4,3GHz i7 7740X. Not 3,5 GHz base......and this costs like 400$ more than i7-7740X, god bless. This is really sad because i wanted to populate all those juicy slots with 4x8 (x2) GB rams so i can have a total of 64 GB ram, thats what i7-7740X allows. Sad life....is sad.

Intel X299 is a horrible choice right now. The AMD Ryzen 7 1700 when overclocked can beat the 7820X in certain cases, and costs less than the 7740X. Get the 7700K and use 4x 16GB sticks if you want to game, and only game.

Listen, buddy, i already purchased like 95% out of that PC components. I cant go back now. I'll just have to live with the fact that ill only be able to use 4 ram slots with that specific CPU, and not 8, like the motherboard has. Now going 64 gb or 32 gb idk which one is more worth, because all i will be doing is gaming/streaming/rendering videos/using softwares such as Autocad 2017 or etc etc.

I will still go with a R7 1700 only if you are only gaming

yes. the 7820x has double the cores of the 7740x while being much more expensive while the 7740x is clocked higher. you REALLY should have just gotten a 6700k/7700k if you're just gaming or a ryzen 1700 if you're also doing streaming/editing/rendering.

see if you can return it for a ryzen 1700 and am4 mobo, if you really need 32-64gb of ram you can just get 16gb sticks instead of 8gb.

I think the best choice right now would be to get rid of that i7 7740X, buy the i7 7820X, and populate all those slots until 128 GB of ram, but honestly 128 GB is pricy as **** and is also an overkill. Which is totally not worth it for the things im doing. So instead i will get i7 7820X and populate all those slots until 64 GB of ram, even tho the CPU and motherboard can handle up to 128 GB of ram. It should be ok that way, i really dont want to go back and change the architecture of the build, i always wanted to stick with intel even though the new ryzen is cheaper and sometimes better. I wanted a high end PC for the ultimate gaming/streaming/editing/rendering/software using. So guys, that's what i decided to do. Might as well go all in for something that is already bought. Am i right or am i right?

Lol, buys two 1080ti's than complains he can't use 8gb ram modules when 16gb sticks are available..I'm so confused.

@JDE you can actually very happily stream with 4 cores, until now the i7 has been the go to for streaming and its doing great, hell my old i7-3770 is streaming GTA V & PUBG great, yeah I'm not running at ultra settings but thats cause its only a 470 (thanks stupid miners)

Yes it can stream better but than doesn't mean it can't be done, and done well.

I would kind of say so.

ANYWAYS:

Gaming: 7820X wins, slightly

Streaming: R7 1700 wins, landslide

Editing: R7 1700 wins, sorta  (except if you use adobe)

Rendering: R7 1700 wins, sorta (except if you use adobe)

Software: Multitasking goes to R7 1700, single threaded goes to 7820X. Tie.

I have a 7820X and I absolutely LOVE it. Performance is amazing. Nothing else out there is beating it currently except the 7900X.

I'm just looking at Linus's older videos. IDK real world performance, but that's where I gathered the information from.
