Any reason for this?

I have a netbook (an ASUS Eee PC 1005HA), and I've noticed that it seems to run a little faster when it's hooked up to my monitor (running at 1024x768, as opposed to my netbook's 1024x600). Is there any particular reason for this?

Power consumption maybe? I doubt it though. Might be power saving software throttling it somehow.

I did that about 6 months ago, but the benchmarks show nothing. just it seems that loading pages generally goes faster. And I checked, but there is nothing power-saving going on with it. Everything is set to their least battery-friendly settings.

Well sounds like you are maybe just perceiving it that way, try timing your page loading times and check if there's a difference, until then you don't know for sure.

 

If its not though, I'm pretty sure it would have something to do with the power consumption, maybe affecting your network card or something? I dunno

I'll try this thread, since it's typical for a page that I pull up a lot (I do browse LTT a lot, after all). I went through the power settings with a fine-tooth comb, and made sure everything was at the equivalent of performance.

Without monitor this thread took about 5 seconds to load, and with it it took anywhere from 4 to 4.5. So it isn't just me. Weird. This was averaged over 5 tries.

Well if its not software throttling, then possibly might be electrical interference if you are connecting via wifi. Seems a bit far fetched though.

Who knows. It doesn't make sense if my monitor is causing interference, since it goes faster. I did some more averages and it tightened up to 5 internal, 4.8 external. Still seems a lot faster.
