With the release of intel's new KabyLake X architecture and support for X299 motherboards, intel has really stepped up their game in the consumer market with the release of their new core i9 processors which use the all new socket 2066 socket. This CPU line up features lots of new technology from intel that is targeted at different people in the consumer market. Personally I like some chips, and the motherboards are what really have me more interested in it over AMD.

Kaby Lake X makes no sense at all for consumers and should only be bought by extreme overclockers.

 

Skylake X is meh, since there isn't a whole lot of testing I can't say very much but since the 1800X is almost as powerful as the 6900k already, I can't see much of a benefit unless you're going to buy the 10+ core models which are very expensive.
