Good non cpu taxing game

Colin Donoghue

I am looking for games that do not rely on a powerful cpu but rely on a good gpu I know tomb raider is one that does (I think)

Most Fps games or turn based games but depends on how sucky your cpu really is.

what are your specs

most games don't rely on powerful cpus so i think you should narrow down your search with what kind of games you'd like to play

Crank up the resolution and the gpu is the only thing that matters.

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

i think skyrim might be a bit cpu hungry if lots of mods were used especially the ones which adds more Scripts and extra units on screen

If you want openworld games with low cpu hunger try, mgs v its well optimized, Gta v is surprisingly well optimized as well, Lowered Distance scaling on witcher 3 would work too

Assuming that no mods are used, some mods might hurt the CPU and others might not, and giving a diverse range of games for the RPG genre.

It is but it can use most of your cores wisely, and over patches and patches it can run on my shitty athlon x4 860k at around 60 fps

Reading the initial post in the thread I thought you were talking a total crap cpu like a Pentium G3258, Core 2 Duo, or some weak AMD apu. You can play pretty much anything on that setup. Just drop a couple of the most cpu taxing settings like draw distance and shadows. And with a 980 Ti might as well use Nvidia DSR to 1440p if you're on a 1080p panel.

GTA V can run well on an i3, so your FX 8300 will probably have no problems hitting a steady 60 fps. Just don't turn up the advanced settings (they're cpu killers no matter what cpu you have) and run grass at high or very high instead of ultra and I'd be surprised if you're not getting 60 fps.
