Favorite type of Music ?

Hey, I was just thinking that not all people call EDM music and just think of it as an assortment of sounds :/ I personally think that is wrong. Once you start diving into the sub genres you will learn that it is not just "Wub wub's" but there are songs that make you shiver and songs that make you go "WoW". They can also have amazing vocalists (Example: Laura Brhem) or the song lyric is just plain out nice. And yes EDM does have lyric.

What is your favorite type of music. I enjoy Liquid dubstep, Drum and bass, and some Glitch hop here and there. I Personally I do not like to Dirty dubstep but others do.

Thanks, Golden

oh man this question is stupid hard, it's easier for me to tell you that I don't like: Country, Pop, Modern rap, Hardcore, Hardstyle, most Rock, most Dubstep, Ska, most vocal foreign music.

I listen to almost everything EDM, hip hop (oldschool & underground + flat beat type songs,) dub, jungle, classical, some classical rock, mixed reggae, melodic, mixed funk. There's a buttload more but ain't nobody got time to list it or read it.

I'm about to offend someone, but I frequently watch anime but there's a special place in my hell for practically all the music associated with 95% of anime. Jpop included, Kpop is so ridiculous I can't even hate it. I have skipping musical scenes, openings, and closings down to a science. Most openings are almost always exactly 1:30 + 5/10s if sponsored.

LOL about the anime thing I understand you I watch it often but sometimes I just can not take their music but personally I think Angel Beats did it right ;)

I struggled to finish that (sorry) overhyped turd, I skipped through every musical scene.

Only anime I can think off of the top of my head that pulled off music well was Samurai champloo, but it's not really fair for anything to be compared to it musically, since it was so advantaged.

Dubstep and Eurobeat..the other genres within electronic music kinda bores me (especially when they have that obnoxious 1min+ build up intro). Also like rock, jazz, doo-wop, classical, video game music, some country and many more..just no Bieber and other talentless hacks that /have/ to autotune.

The only heavy bass I like is a double bass drum or bagpipes.

Music favs would be folk metal, symphonic metal, power metal, and melodic death metal

Mainly guitar oriented instrumental and rock, but I love blues jazz etc. Been playing guitar for 10 years and have been studying music theory for 5. My ear is quite picky though.

There are lots of different types of metal  :P http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heavy_metal_subgenres

There is a lot of variation. One band I listen to is pirate themed while 2 have a viking theme. 2 bands have songs like a lotr saga sort of thing. Some have female vocals(one sounds like katy perry) and a couple has 3 singers.

Some have exotic instruments like the hurdy gurdy, bagpipes, and flutes

Just going to say it. RAP ISNT MUSIC!

OK, but my favorites are Classical and Progressive Metal. Yes its a weird mix, but in songs like 'Illumination Theory' by Dream Theater, when they mix it, it is awesome.

I like all other kinds of Metal also, but no Screamo or Death Metal.

My Build Log on PCPartPicker FX-6300, ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3, MSI 7870 GHz Edition, Corsair Vengeance LP 1x8GB, 1TB WD Blue, Fractal Core 1000 USB 3.0, Corsair CX600, and my most recent addition that I've had forever and isnt new is a 80GB WD800 for Linux, Lenovo ThinkPad X131e, ASUS Transformer TF300T, Galaxy Note 3 Sister dropped it in a puddle I now have to use a Samsung Brightside, Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro 250ohm version, Blue Yeti  #TheRealKEH-JEFF | "Sometimes, if were lucky, in Australia, a family has 2 kangaroos to pick up the kids with" - marto | Your entry here | Remember kids; just because Linus has a video on it, doesn't mean that its the best choice | ts3.wferr.com the best TeamSpeak Abide by the CoC | Looking for build help? You know that is very interesting. I guess there is more than meets the eye for everything out there I. did not know there were sub genres for metal and I am guessing not many knew there were sub genres to EDM also.

Thanks, Golden
