Favorite type of Music ?

Just going to say it. RAP ISNT MUSIC!

OK, but my favorites are Classical and Progressive Metal. Yes its a weird mix, but in songs like 'Illumination Theory' by Dream Theater, when they mix it, it is awesome.

I like all other kinds of Metal also, but no Screamo or Death Metal.

Love DT.

New record is great.

I'll listen to most EDM but what I really love is Happy Hardcore. It's a fast (around 170-180 BPM) style of EDM and it's often played at raves. I'll put my favourite song below. It's called 'Pretty Rave Girl' by S3RL

I also enjoy a bit of Grime and Hip-Hop occasionally.

Metal. More specifically technical death metal and progressive metal. But I also like melodic death metal, groove metal, and other stuff.

I personally don't enjoy 9-string guitars, but that doesn't change the fact that they look awesome as hell!

Indie rock.. Yeah, a really bad year to fave this genre, because now all you can find is all crappy shitty pop musics.

My favorite is probably French House music, but if I was less picky.. xD   I like Japanese Indie Rock (they aren't really Indie anymore since they're on Sony, but they did start there, and have the sound) alot. (My favorite probably being Ling Tosite Sigure.) I like the massive difference's between those two though.

Metal, Folk, EDM, etc.

I've been jamming to a lot of Thrash Metal lately, I tend to be more of a black/death guy.

Prog is one of my favorite sub-genres. I'm more into Proggy Death Metal than stuff like DT, still love them though. Listen to any Porcupine Tree?

I gave them a listen. Not a big fan of the vocals unfortunately.

Have a listen at this if you want to: http://youtu.be/xJUDk6a4GsI?t=1m12s You can listen for more than just a few seconds, it's really good :) Oh my god this song is so good.

So first you have some keyboard stuff, then some guitar with a solo, then you get EPIC VOCALS at 2:52. Oh my god those vocals... This must be my favorite band.

3:43, oh my god the awesomeness doesn't stop there, oh no, fucking eargasm man.

And then you have this song http://youtu.be/oIY4X8yi5Oo?t=18m34s best part at 19:39...

Those were only two songs, all over their songs are 10/10

I salute Haken

Haken is very good, but I never got much into them. I'm more of an Opeth/BTBAM guy in the Prog Realm. Haken is still awesome.
