Will a hyper 212 evo fit?

Leo_Dahlin

I want to buy a Hyper 212 evo for my second PC and was wondering if it will fit.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/XbCqf8 Pcpartpicker says it will fit but i'm not sure because i have seen many people saying that it won't with high profile RAM.

It might hit the RAM, but even then you can just put the fan on the back of the heatsink so its pulling air through rather than pushing, and it should fit fine.

It will hit the RAM. That's a high profile RAM, but you can put the fan on the back of heatsink

You can see in Anandtech's review of the case that their Hyper 212 EVO hung over the first DIMM slot (granted it's obviously a different board), which I assume is why they moved over to the next two slots instead. The RAM they used is lower profile than yours, so I'd wager in the same "push" configuration, it probably wouldn't clear the RAM's heatspreader.

You can also move the fan higher up the cooler and have it sit just above the ram, but this may increase the hight if it comes above the heat pipes.

H7 would be better pick here. It will fit the case, doesn't interfere with RAM and is otherwise at par or better than 212.
