New PC build - $1.4k Budget

Benjji

Hey guys,

So I really need a new PC cause well. I have a Mac.

Anyway, I live in Australia, my budget is $1,400 AUD.

The aim of the PC is to play video games. I plan on playing very demanding games at high settings such as, ARK, Rust, GTA V etc.

I plan on having 2 monitors, although I'll be using 1 for a while.

Thanks in advance,

Benjji.

Resolution, refresh rate?, and just for a future reference. Those of us who use the night theme on the website can't see your post at all. It blends in with the night theme color scheme a little to well. I had to highlight your text to be able to read it.

If it's 1080p I would suggest this,

A 1060 is poor choice, I would go for a 1080 with the current environment, as a 1060 will only cost around 100 less

I thought the same, but Australia actually isn't experiencing the increase in GPU prices like we are. a 1080 for AU is like $850+ while the 1060 is $419 as I have shown above.

A 1060 for United States is $550+.... more than an Australian price. We normally pay half of what they do.

Just noticed, sometimes use day, sometimes night:

I guess we will have to use Command/Control A for now.

I don't know about AUD, but in USD there is a very negligible difference in price (at least from Samsung) between SATA 3 and m.2, so I would recommend an 960 EVO in lieu of the 850 (assuming, of course, the mobo supports m.2)

edit: just checked, and in AUD there is a $20 difference, just like USD
