I'm having problems with games suddenly running like shit, but they look just fine (even dropping from 1080p to 1366x768@75Hz didn't solve the problem)

I don't play CS:GO, but seeing as it works out about 1,000% worse than my 470... Things would be bad :P It's literally a display adapter, since my Xeon has no graphics :( I might try a couple games on it for a laugh though.

Portal (the original) is running at 30-40 on max... And that's about all that would launch. Witcher 3 failed, Forza Horizons 3 wanted DX12 and Dishonored 2 took several minutes to even appear... This ain't happening

 

EDIT: Witcher 3 just needed some time. It hit 2fps a couple times...

I know I recently had an issue in one of my older games where the shaders acted up horribly and one of my friends who played the game said that I needed to update my drivers (admittedly, I did keep dismissing the "a new update is available" message in the corner of my screen), but I don't recall seeing a major drop in gaming performance after the update, nor did I see any problems in other games.

That happened a few months back but I clean installed windows after that.

My fps is fine just the quality settings look like it's on the lowest setting when I stand still but if I move the camera suddenly it looks like the settings I have it on, basically any movement causes the settings to pick up to max settings but staying still makes it look like I'm playing minecraft versions of the games.

@BuckGup @Princess Cadence @Biggerboot @ARikozuM so I set my monitor back to default settings (although it was already at default setting minus the maxed out volume) and it's back to normal..... I'm utterly confused right now. PS: GFE still not working.

Windows seems to screw up display refresh rates a lot of the time. You'll probably have to set a "custom" resolution in the Nvidia control panel to get 75Hz. That's what I've had to do with:

  • This 1366x768 75Hz screen
  • 1024x768 85Hz TV/Monitor
  • 1280x1024 60Hz Monitor (I run it at 1024x768 85Hz)

The screen probably isn't supposed to require a custom resolution, but with MS thinking that displays above 60Hz are rare AF it might as well be set at one.

It'll still be locked to 60Hz if I do that.

The one in my sig... I can set the native refresh to 75Hz but then I have to make a custom res so the gpu notices it.

still no change, even swapped the hdmi port on the gpu too

The one in my sig... I can set the native refresh to 75Hz but then I have to make a custom res so the gpu notices it.

Did you apply the custom resolution in the NV control panel? Window's display settings will only show higher than 60Hz if applied through it.

First time I tried that it was locked to 60HZ and I had to go there and select 75Hz then it started working at 75HZ then I set the custom res so when fast sync would be at 75fps
