Mixed review between the X370's (Ryzen 7 1700)

So I can get these two boards, the Asrock X370 Taichi or the MSI X370 Gaming Pro Carbon for the exact same price and I can't seem to get a definite on which one has the better power phases etc.

I'll be overclocking the 1700 to 3.6ghz/3.7 probably (Yes I have a water cooler and a gold rated PSU)

I use the computer for photo editing, video editing and playing a few games every now and then.

Cheers,
RP

Dude I have a evo 212 and a b350 motherboard and I got to 3.7 on all cores with a vcore of 1.25. You don't need to worry about power phases until you are pushing for 4.0 to 4.1 ghz. Also I would just like to say that you won't be able to figure out which has the better power phases setup unless you know the quality and the quantity of the phases which most mobo companies don't give info on. Bottom line you are fine and just pick the motherboard based on something else besides power phases.

AsRock has superior BIOS than MSi in the regard of memory XMP profiles, being often able to operate 2933mhz guaranteed and higher while many MSi boards unfortunately gets stuck on 2666mhz whatever you do.

Therefore Taichi is the best pick.

There's tons and tons of options, takes a little time to go over them all but easy to find anything you need quickly.

Xmp works for me on a 2x8 3200 C16 trident z rgb kit flawlessly.
