Recommand a good overclocking psu?

ProRules

Hey fellas, which psu should i get?

heres the rig:

7700k 5.2ghz 1.36v

Asus apex ix

16gb g.skill ripjaws v 3600 cl14 1.4v

gtx 1080ti overclocked

fully watercooled with d5 pump and 12 fans.

As far as i know, 650W high quality psu will be just enough? or should i go with more like 700W just in case?

Also, which psu in particular would you recommand? mainly for stable overclock, and eliminate v-drops as much as possible is the goal. another think which would be nice is a good looking psu.

I've seen some InWin psu which is goldish' leds with acrylic or so, would fit amazing in the build, but now idea how the model is called, and how is it quality wise.

Corsair RMx or Seasonic Prime. Both 10/10 from JohnnyGuru. Or you could go for an EVGA SuperNOVA G3, 9.8/10 or something like that (It's smaller, so I think it ran a teensy bit hotter). All of those are for the 1000W version I was looking at, IDK if lower wattage ones score better or worse.

Check out the psu tier list, anything 3nor above will be fine, Corsair CXm or seasonic s12/m12 are the best value ones if you go for tier 3. Make sure to get a 550 watt at least and you'll be good.

Obviously the higher tier the better, if you can afford an EVGA g2/g3 or corsair RMx then go for one of those, looking at about $80 for the cheapest.

do you want to get the best of the best? seasonic prime series at the higher wattage. 650 is excellent too though, the difference is really really really really really really really really small.

650 watt seasonic prime (9.5/10):

Plus, you get a nice 12 Year warranty. So it won't be breaking for a while.

its his testing equipment, the psu is so good that he can't really measure at the level it performs at.

This one? Just blew the 850W model right out of the water and stomped all over the 750W. This is the best regulating unit I have ever tested to date. This is why I now need to find money for a more accurate multimeter... I need more decimal places, because this unit decided to just sit there and not move the 12V and 5V rails one bit. Only the 3.3V rails shows any deviation, and it's not much deviation at all at 0.12%. That means this thing has 0.04% average regulation. I didn't think anything was going to get this far past my mythic bracket, which I remind you is set at 0.5% and so far has been very hard to hit for many. I think I might need another bracket, or just move the bar up for all other brackets.

550W is plenty to OC a 7700K and 1080 Ti but an EVGA 650GQ/GS/G2/G3 should do ya nicely as well the aforementioned RMx/RMi.

because it has other flaws, read the cold and hot testing if you want the details, those mostly matter for overclocking.

Okay thanks :)

its so weird that different wattage units of the same model have different performances.
