Unrecognized Internal HDD

So I have just built a computer (Using right now) and I have a 525GB SSD and an 3TB HDD inside it. The SSD has been registered by the OS but the 3TB HDD hasn't. Any way to solve this? I have found both items in computer management and the HDD says its unallocated. Please help on how to allocate this storage!!

have you partitioned it?

go to "create and format hard disk partitions" and make a partition.

nope.

HDDs and all storage devices come with just raw storage, no file system or anything. you need to make a single partition, using all the available space, so it can be seen by the OS, with a file system, etc.

 

more than one partition will split up the space of your HDD, so if you have a 2TB HDD, you could make a 500GB and 1.5TB sections, if you're OCD and want more organization or something. (or use one HDD/SSD for 2 operating systems.)

You need a partition and file system to use a hard drive as that's what tells you where the files are on the drive. You can use all your drive.

Select the 3tb drive, right click, create partition/format (don't know how it shows up from the top of my mind), create your partitions(s) and assign letters to them if they haven't already been assigned.
