GTX 1070s getting bought up by miners

Like there are no reasonable priced Cards available at all, only top tier 1070, 1080 etc

Just checked on newegg, still a ton of 1060s and 1070s for sale.

I'm fine with miners. That means there will be more used but somewhat recent cards available, so people don't have to buy 780ti or 980ti because they don't have the money 1-2 years later.

don't worry, I'm sure the crash will occur before they make back there investment in hardware, same reason no one uses a GPU for bitcoin mining anymore, it's just not economical enough.

but they will be half burn't out from being run full tilt for a year non-stop

Nah, they just cost more for the same number of TFLOPs, so they are not worth it for miners ;)

4 year old cards (780ti) are also half burnt if you count in their age.

Ah. I've always like the premise of mining where you just leave your computer running but I really don think want to kill my hardware xD

are you sure it's the miners? 

 

is mining in germany even a thing? you know electricity is crazy expensive here

 

alternate.de still has some 1060s and 1070s listed by the way

Mining is not really a thing in germany, but at this moment its profitable and yeah they are still available but only the top tier versions watercooled etc
