Despite having a GTX 1080 and an R9 390, I bought a 6950.

WFMG

There was no real reason for me to do it, but despite this, I decided to buy a PowerColor Radeon HD 6950. Why? Because it was $23. That's right. A stupendously awesome deal. He was also selling a GTX 660Ti for like $55. That didn't make much sense, as this card is better than that, barring the ShadowPlay support. Nonetheless, I now have four graphics cards better than my mum's GTX 750 1GB. My 860M 2GB, My 6950, my R9 390, and my GTX 1080. I'll post on Reddit, too.

I just wanted to boast.

I'm not sure. I mean, mods can move it where it should be.

That's awesome! I am fascinated by these older cards. At one point, I'd like to buy a GTX 590. It's just so intriguing...

Hey, it's not a bad card. It's not amazing anymore, but it's just fine for 1080p. I just got lucky.

It was definitely a good idea, although you could've perhaps gotten a little more for it. Nonetheless, this is not really the going rate. I got lucky as hell to get this for 200 SEK ($23)

Likely but it was for a friend and i used it for 6 years by then, it was the 2GB model with the asus 3-slot cooler. An absolute monster. Unlocked shaders also worked fine btw :P

100 euro's was enough :D

You can also try to unlock shaders, it's really easy, i can help if you want, i guess i still know how to do it :D

Is it a good deal? If you compare to the original price, or the price of current cards that are similar and probably more expensive, yes.

However, Isnt that card so old at this point it cant play modern games at 1080P? If so, what is the point? No matter that it is technically a good deal. If you cannot play current games on it, it is just a waste of space and money.

This card seems to be a bit slower than an RX460 at this point. The RX 460 is $90, so technically you got  a decent deal. However, the RX 460 consumes only 90 Watts on load, versus a whopping 260 Watts for the Radeon 6950. So it uses a lot more power and will be a lot hotter while being slower than a RX460...

EDIT: just looked up some benchmarks for the RX460, and it is capable of getting between 30 and 60fps in most modern games at 1080P. So I guess for an ULTRA BUDGET build, this would be an okay card. If you got the PSU to power it LOL>

It is a good deal. It's about the same thing as an R9 270X, or an R7 370, and it is very much capable of modern 1080p gaming.
