No. My 980ti is good for medium to high settings. A 480 is minimum.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

RX 480 / GTX 970 / GTX 1060 is the minimum, with a GTX 980/980Ti/FuryX or better strongly reccomended

No. Maybe in a few cherry picked titles, but over all the 480 is equal to a 970.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

480 was more 970 level at launch, but it has gotten a lot better

Regardless of what the 480 is or isn't equivalent to, the 560 won't be quite enough for VR. A GTX 1060 or a 4/580 is where you want to be I'm afraid.

even a 470 will be ok, as it is aprox equivalent to a 1060 3gb

Yeah, but I suspect it won't be enough for very long. I guess it's okay if you want to try it out, but a VR headset is a hefty investment, and OP may as well make sure they can experience it reasonably well.

and? the 480 is beating it. the first one was nvidia sided, and the 2nd one is dx11. also keep in mind that the difference between both the 480 and 470, and 970 and 980 are very small.

Nah bro, the 980 walks all over a 970, even when both are overclocked. Also no excuses, the API has been the excuse for how long now? If developers are using DX11, then that's all that matters. Like I said, you can find games where the 480/580 run with a 980, no argument there. But over all, on average, the 580 and 970 are the same.

yet more and more are swapping to dx12. its been out for what, 2 and a half years tops? most big games have a 2-4 year development cycle.
also,

only a 5-10 frame difference in witcher

So Prey is DX12? AMD sponsered title? Maybe Mass Effect? See my point? We've gotten DX12 ports, no real DX12 games because DX12 is crap to work with. Developers use what easiest to use to get their games out the quickest, that's not DX12.

Yeah, notice at the start a 10fps difference. As the load increases on the card, the disparities between them shink. Think of it like a lever, the longer the lever the more force. The higher the fps the bigger the difference between tiers.

what are you even talking about? several games are using dx12

as for your 2nd comment, the only reason the differences shrink is because the overall numbers are going down, but the % from 970 to 980 is still pretty intact

Name a new title exclusively DX12. Big hint, all Microsoft games. Get it yet?

Here's a walk through of a bunch of games, we done here?

that video only proved my point. 980 is 10-20% faster than a 970.

and only microsoft games? are you legit? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_games_with_DirectX_12_support

Oi.

10-20% is the difference between tiers. as I said easier to see as the fps rise. 20% is not a slight improvement.

Not support, that lists DX12 ports. If you don't understand the difference between ported to DX12 and exclusively DX12, it's something you should look into. HUGE difference.
