If I had a picture and there was an infinite amount of possibilities of what the picture could look like but the picture is still the thing, not just random pixels being colored. But I also had 4.29981696E12 possibilities to make the picture because in only one orientation. If 1000 pictures were created a second it would take almost 49,766.4 years to make the image twice. But since it's infinate wouldn't you create the image many more times? This is talking if you set a random value to each pixel on the screen.

If we are using a 256bit colorspace, then there are 256 colors * how many pixels in the image

If there are infinite possibilities, you will never see them all, and it would take infinite time at any finite rate.  To get infinite possibilities, you would have to consider infinite resolution, though, which makes this kind of pointless imo.

 

But what if we limit ourselves to an 8K, 24 bit (ie, "normal") image.  That's 7680 x 4320 pixels, 2563 colours per pixel

 

To understand how many combinations there are, consider a phone combination with 4 digits, each of them a number from 0 to 9.  The code could be 0000, or 0001, or 0002, etc. up to 9998, and finally 9999.  That's 10000 total.  IE, 104 combinations.  So, to generalize, it's the number of values each "unit" can be, to the power of the number of units.

 

Now, considering this image again, each unit can be any of 2563 possible values, and there are 7680 x 4320 of them.  This gives us a total number of combinations of 2.PNG.a3e9cb6fe065b80eaed7c3887a6e7c13.PNG or in other words, an incomprehensibly large number.

I'm more talking of if the picture was real and the it was say a portrait. The person could exist anywhere in it in infinite places. From one atom to the left or right and so on. Or there shirt could be 16.8M different colors. Same with eyes and you get the point. If we scale this down and limit it to pixels then it would still be infinite but we would have an infinite possibility so would we never or always see the picture? Also how fast do you think we could generate a picture of random pixels? Might be useless as in order to tell if you have the picture you are looking for you would need computing time to look at each picture and use something like google has to see if its a tree or what not.

Using "real" and "infinite places" is not the right wording to be using, as it doesn't matter if its a real image or not; they are pixels... Pixels are pixels. What i think you mean to say is how many places a pixel can be with a certain color. So, in a 1x1 image, there are exactly (colorspace pixel density here) amount of options. This expands dramatically when you go to a 1x2 image. You have to factor in the colorspace, AND the two pixel locations at certain colors. So, in a 256 bit color space, you would have 256^256 power options for the image. Now imagine this with thousands of pixels. It gets exponentially larger!

Yes, they could be in many places, but when you take the image, you quantize it, since there are only so many pixels and so many colour values that it can be.  So you only have to calculate based on the limits of the file.

Even if you had an infinite amount of horizontal and vertical pixels, and an infinite combination of red, green and blue, you would be limited by quantum states. After a certain while, the same depiction/thing would occur. The same principle applies if the universe is truly infinitely large - it would mean that the probability of there being an identical copy of yourself, down to the quantum states of the quarks in the nuclei, is 1, aka. 100%. 

 

Edit: Assuming that the picture is representable as a physical object, in other words being perceivable.
