own Rx480 but probobaly switching to 1060 Help

Hi

I own a asus strix rx480 8gb oc wich i bought for 220€,and the problem is that the card as some problems and im returning it to the store ,and after these 2 months of usage of amd im thinking switching to the nvidia ,its so much easier to work with a nvidia card .

So i need your opinion if its worth changing to the 1060 "excluding the Practically of working with it" in terms of perfomance, considering some games are getting better with the new rx480 drivers.

Pls help and sorry for this messy text ,i havent sleep for 10h

What is wrong with your 480? And why do you think Nvidia is easier?

In past i had problem both with Amd and Nvidia. You cant be sure for either of those 2 brends that it wont fail maybe 2-3 years from now... For future games rx480 has more potential then gtx1060, but thats all up to you..

Research before you switch, depending on the games you play the RX480 will perform better than the 1060 and 1070. I almost switched to a GTX 1070 but when I saw I was getting double the frame rates in PUBG than my brother was with lower settings I decided to stick with my RX480.

no no no.  480 beats 1060 is games that use dx12 and sometimes dx11. also, 480 will age better since it has more shader cores. also, the 1060s vrms are brain dead. they cant overvolt, so you cant get that great of an overclock

What kind of an unoptimized POS is PUBG?

The 1060 can overclock just fine. I'd still get a 480/580 since AMD has a history of optimizing drivers for longer, but that's something else.

It can still easily overclock well enough to trade blows with a 480/580.

thats also a dx11 bench, keep that in mind

How about looking at actual gaming benchmarks rather than synthetics? Unless you sit in 3Dmark all day.....

So we're looking at mini 1060s vs. full size 480s. And again, they still trade blows in DX11 while DX12 does better on the 480, but I also wouldn't base any future expectations of DX12 on what we have now as we still don't have any relevant DX12 games -- virtually all DX12 implementations were bolted on after the fact.

Not to mention that neither card(s) were overclocked either.....so I'm still waiting for something to back up that moronic overclocking comment.

The FX8350 has twice as many cores as a 7700k, therefore it's twice as good.

my 480 with an asic quality of 48% can get to 1411, an 11% increase.
a 1060 with a boost clock of 1800 (which is like all of them) can usually go to around 2100 if theyre really good, an increase of 16%
Now my 480 has an asic quality of 48%. that if fucking garbage, and yet it can still reach that high. we are comparing a shit 480 to a fucking great 1060. happy yet?

Most 480s can't do much better than 1400.

ASIC score doesn't mean much.

Okay, enjoy the cave you've borrowed your head into, I'm done talking at a wall.

If you believe an RX 480 can easily overclock past 1400mhz, then good for you, but don't spread misinformation.
