  1. Anyone else notice that YouTube hasn't been processing videos in higher than 1080p for a few days now? I wonder what's going on 🤔 It's not just LTT, it's also my channel that has this issue which is much smaller.

I've notice one channel, in particular, where older videos get pushed out in 144p when I have watched them a month or two prior in 1080p. It wasn't my connection, checked other videos and they were 1080p or higher. It really confused and annoyed me because I love going back through their content catalog and rewatching older material.

@imreloadin I'm not sure if that issue is related, but still really weird regardless

  2. Update: I requested an RMA for the Corsair AX760 on their website and it was accepted as a "one-time courtesy" according to the rep I'm emailing with. As they have no stock of a similar unit, they will be replacing it with an HX850i. I have returned the PSU and will very likely receive the HX850i in the coming week. I'm actually quite happy that they accepted the RMA, I expected it to not go through w/o any proof of purchase.
  3. My prior build is the "old build" in my signature. While this system did not pull more power, there was for sure more heat. Though I have always had this PSU with the fan facing downwards so it should always have gotten fresh air from the filtered intake of the bottom of the case. I think the main problem might have been heat cycling. As I usually only stress my system for about 20-30 hours week and for the rest of the time it is only used for web browsing.
  4. No it actually wasn't. It was working completely fine actually for all of these years. Things is though I don't have a receipt anymore of the purchase. I have opened a ticket on Corsair's website just now to see what happens. But I think I might be SOL on this one.
  5. While heat fatigue might indeed explain the cause of the PSU dying, I wasn't even close to using the maximum potential of the 760 Watt unit. My system is the "Ryzinator" in my signature and shouldn't pull much more than 500 Watts at full load. Note that none of my components are overclocked.
  6. It's been a long time since I've posted on this forum. But 2 days ago the Corsair AX 760 PSU that I bought in 2014 failed out of the blue. The unit had been working completely fine ever since my very first PC build. It failed while I was playing CS:GO, I noticed my GPU was making a lot of noise, which is normal and fine as I always have V-SYNC off. Then a few minutes into the game, I heard a loud pop and the power in our house went out. One of the fuses had blown, and a burning smell was coming from my PC. Upon opening up the case, it was very obvious that the smell was coming from
  7. Microsoft still needs to make money, so they likely want you to buy a new license instead. The free upgrade was mostly a marketing stunt, if everyone had to pay to upgrade many people wouldn't have done the upgrade. They made it seem like a limited offer, because they can't just give out free software while the company needs to make profit too.
  8. For Windows 8.1 you would need a new license key. For Windows 10 you can use your Windows 7 key for activating AFTER installing. This method is not on Microsoft's website anymore, but it still works and has no ramifications.
  9. In September 2017 I made a list of the advantages and dissadvantages between Windows Phone and Android. Here is it in no particular order or much research:

    • Many apps are still build on Silverlight technology, which in my observations seem to cause the Loading... and Resuming... screens.
    • Facebook Messenger crashes when attaching photos
    • Twitter app crashes when attaching photos
    • Can't delete apps directly from home screen
    • Kik Messenger is unsupported
    • Outlook Mail doesn't load YouTube mail optimally
    • Outlook Mail pictures are huge for no reason (i.e no resize by mail app) / DPI scaling
    • Auto correct only corrects one language at a time
    • Only 2-3 maintained browsers
    • Windows Hello is slow to recognise finger print
    • UI inconsistencies, lots of design languages at the same time.
    • Android send feedback immediately after a crash - no prompt on WP
    • Swipe right for hamburger menu missing
    • Close all apps button is missing
    • Loading app from notifications is slow
    • Random reboots?? Both on Luma 650 and Alcatel Idol 4s restart while using ms edge
    • Many websites don't detect Edge's user agent, sites will direct you to a Google Play app which will result in the store opening and search for "intent" https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/should-you-grab-an-amd-freesync-monitor-well-break-it-down-for-you/
    • No screenshot preview
    • App updates are slow (takes multiple days to updtae inbox apps on Lumia 650)
    • Hyperlapse app crash
    • No WhatsApp picture in notifications
    • Can't change default apps like the browser to something different.
    • Night mode is truly universal, unlike Android (my biggest gripe about Android..)
    • Emoji's actually good, Google has ruined them in Android (faces look like blobs)
    • Superior battery life
    • Login to apps using biometrics
    • Live tiles make for a clean looking home screen
    • Apps can make use of Microsoft's new design language
    • Use Cortana on the go, even outside of the US
    • No sticky client unlike Android, improving corporate WiFi solutions with multiple APs on the same SSID
    • Bing lockscreen images
    • Delete any app via Powershell
    • Access device statistics via web app
    • No vendor or carrier specific updates (Coming to Android in Android Oreo)
    • DPI scaling can be adjusted
    • Continuum allows mobile device to be used as a desktop PC.
    • ALL settings can be synced with a Microsoft account.
    • Beta versions of the operating system can be installed by everyone.
    • Paste button right on the keyboard

The TL;DR for me is: WIndows Phone is a much more consistent experience overall but for heavy duty users Android just plain works better (at the time of writing).

If you are not a heavy phone user it'd say you should just go for the Nokia 930.

  10. That would be weird considering some lesser known sites and my school website show up with the favicon for me just fine. I suspect it's just a bug, maybe try removing cache/history etc?
  11. Does your website have a favicon? It should display that favicon in top sites whenever it detects that the site has one.
  12. Go to color filters in Windows' Settings app and turn off color filters. It would be a good idea to also turn off the shortcut key too.
  13. Aha I misread that part at first. Then I have no clue, almost sounds like a UEFI BIOS issue at that point. As far as I know, Surface BIOS updates are delivered through Windows Update so it could be that it screwed up when updating. I think it might be best to turn to Microsoft for this one, unless someone else still has ideas.
  14. When you start from a Windows 10 installation USB drive, you can open the command prompt using Shift+F10 (after clicking Install now I believe). It's just another thing you could try, I have no other clues really.
  15. There are no drivers for Windows 8.1 for that laptop.
