Floatplane platform

Hello.

I just got Floatplane. But i saw a video on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ccpMnJtRehY  which looked really nice and clean. That was the reason i got it. When i saw it was just a forum thread i got a bit disappointed, not saying they are not doing a great work and so on. Just when i saw that video after i wanted  to see how it worked i checked Youtube and saw that video witch made me want to pay for it. So my question is is there an access to that part or is it fake ?

No it's not fake, they showed it on the wan show (or was it the afterparty?) go watch it.

It's the floatplane site that is currently in progress because it is being moved off of the forum.

I don't think they said when it was going to be moved, but probably in a few months if everything goes well, or maybe a year.

Its actually not fake, think I saw it on one of the WAN shows (A week or so ago I think). They plan to move it there as a standalone platform instead of though the forum.

No, you have to create a new account.

Seams like you cant sign up. Get the error "make sure to fill out the form" but i don't get any form other then name,mail and password

Worked fine for me, not that your missing out on much (A few old test videos uploaded, nothing that good about it).

Its on pre-alpha state. And not really announced officially yet. There are screenshots, but thats supposed to be it. I've reported post with link and mods will pass this on. So if dev team thinks outsiders can't cause any damage, your account might stay.

 

I understand there are a lot of anxious people wanting to see whats going on. But imo its really rude and inconsiderable behavious just to poke your head into secret dev chambers. Its not something I would do. I've rather hinted about my interest to work as tester, like I did for forums. Which eventually was granted to me.

Dont believe anything has been said outlawing it, and Linus (Or whoever runs their account there) has been interacting with people in the comments which would indicate to me they are aware of it but dont care. I obviously didnt mean to cause harm in sharing it, just answering OPs question (Happy to remove link if asked to by mods, though they will likely do that them selves), but if they didnt want it spreading, they should have indicated so and nuked all the other accounts on there.

They blocked sign up for now because people were signing up and try to "hack" the website and it was really annoying luke because it is not ready yet.
