DNK-PRIME. First fully CNC Milling Mini-ITX Case.

Hello, there! :)

We are the small team of designer's engineering's from Russia. More than one year ago, we develop our first project in UCFF PC for Thin Mini-ITX mainboards - DNK | H. During working on this project, we got a lot of experience in metal parts production. Now we are ready to move forward. We checked some latest crowdfunding projects (SENTRY, DAN A4-SFX, NCASE M1) and found them very interesting! But we wanted to build something unique. First of all, it's about production technology. We declined regular ways of production and concentrate on real hardware technologies like aluminum extrusion and CNC milling with finest surface finish and galvanic treatment with every detail. So, the main concept of DNK | PRIME design:

  • Monolith design in minimalist stile
  • Visual symmetry with every corner
  • Strong full aluminum frame to prevent resonance vibrancy
  • Maximum airflow for better cooling
  • High precision production with perfect surface finish
  • No one visuals screws on exterior
  • Screwdriver free assembly
  • Anti-vibration dampers for every inner component

Main frame:

We build solid aluminum frame from 6 main parts, where each part is a supporting frame and a decorative element. It's make's possible to arrange not regular way of the cooling vents and make robust design. As additional, CNC milling makes possible flexibly arrange all necessary fixing elements and hide them.

Full visual symmetry:

Like with our first project DNK | H, we arrange visual symmetry in every detail of the design, with dimensions of 280 x 200 x 140mm. Less than 4 square decimeters on your working table.

SIMMETRY.jpg.c71ccf3974ead7e4ab079461550b365f.jpg

Cooling:

Thanks to extrusion of aluminum, we could arrange vertical lamella air vents. It's have 1.8 more airflow area, then regular way (with holes) from bottom to top without "air pockets".

COOLING.jpg.3a9023757554f25aaa1d6e7e53c03ed2.jpg

As well as very nice decorative view. Under 15 degrees' angle air vents becomes invisible:

Power supply:

Case compatible with every SFX, SFX-L PSU. We arrange power supply in the front part of the case. It can be installed face-to-face to components, or turned 180 degrees face to own ventilation vents. On our opinion, installation, faced to components will help remove warm air from inside the case and move it to front-top part of the case.

Storage configurations:

By the default, case can handle 2 x 2.5" drives. Other configuration, depends of Graphics card. With 1 slot GPU, you can install additional 3.5" drive, without GPU - 2 x 3.5" additional drives. All HDD drives fixings coming with rubber dampers.

PCIe x16 Riser:

Right now, we check FLYCONN 164 pins 20cm PCIe riser, which we chose from several, and it's works well on open test system. But we need more deeply test it with the case and specially with GPU, which have no power connector (below 75W). Will see...

Screwdriver free assembly:

Most of assembly provided without screwdrivers. We use hand-screwing screws with anti-vibration rubber dampers. This provides a more reliable fixing and vibration protection.

Laser marking:

All cases coming with laser marking of model and serial number. Now we are thinking about laser marking personalisation. But not sure. :)

Where we now?

Right now, we arrange extrusion molds production. It's will take some time to produce precisely molds and milling first sample. At the middle of June (hope so 9_9) we'll provide full tests of it and start first batch production. We already got most of necessary preorders for a first batch. So, it's going well. Feel free follow this project on our web: https://luna-design.org/dnk-prime#design

Special thanks to Linus Tech Tips! We hope, that we can arrange review of our product on his great YouTube channel :)

neat, looks really nice but im going to guess its going to be costing about what the other cases in this category ~$180-$250 + shipping, but definatly a nice looking case.

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Looks really nice but this isn't for medium to large hands right? No mention about rounded edges, are there any sharp edges? What about the two circular holes on the bottom of the case, is it for fans? What about air filters?

Two round holes at the bottom for 2.5" drive air vents. I think that dust filters make difficult free air circulation inside the case. I think, better 1 time per year blow the case from dust, then clean dust filters. Anyway, at left and right side of the case there is enough space to fix dust filters. Need tests.

Now, with preorders - $196 + $42 delivery. But no need pay all at ones. 50% deposit (booking) + 50% right before shipping.

yah i took a look, its way to expensive to be anything i ever buy lol. looks are awesome but i dont have the cash to spend on such things

I understand now and i guess a person can buy those magnetic air filters for the sides.

Not too much... Only one exactly - MATT BLACK. With silver glossy chamfer on the top.

Given that it's CNC milled probably not. At least not if done properly.
