Is this normal???

I'm using seti@home for the 1st time in like 10,451 years... 3 months and 21 days... 4 hours 37 minutes 12 seconds....

anyways... I set it to use 80% CPU and it started doing this...

Is this normal? Is this how it handles 80%???

Rendering workloads can do the same thing usage wise, not sure how good it is for the power delivery though. Usually small batches of data are sent to the compute device and there is a gap between one and the next which results in usage like that (that I've seen). Also, more question marks do not make a question more questioning.

when I use ??? it means I'm legit confused in real life... not just asking a question.

Probably the save points.  The default is 60 seconds.  You can change this in the compute settings.

See similar behavior in F@H with save points on the GPU.  Reason you see the dips.
