hey all,

my friend wanted to get a PC to play CS:GO and PUBG.

I'm giving him my old 950 2GB and an old N200 case

Basically I have some ideas of wait to get, but i wanted some other ideas.

It's gotta be micro ATX though.

SO WHAT I NEED IS:

CPU

MOBO

RAM

PSU

I was thinking a skylake i3 (non-k). with 8gb of RAM.

But let me know

Thanks!

This is a complete build with Windows 10 Home. It's about USD $700 for the whole list here, while also taking into account the 8% California Sales Tax (subject to change without notice). If you plan on giving him your old GTX 950 and Cooler Master N200 case, then subtract the Deepcool Tesseract and GTX 1050 Ti from the total cost.

Yeah. Rather a Core i3 for a rock-bottom gaming machine? AMD doesn't have anything to compete with the Pentium lineup just yet. If his friend intends to play any demanding AAA games, I would have submitted a totally different build instead. With a GTX 950, you can do those games with up to Medium or High settings tops at 1080p resolution, and the Pentium is sufficient enough for this scenario, as per demonstrations by Gamers Nexus. Sure something like the Ryzen 5 is better in overall performance, but you have to keep in mind you're paying over twice the amount for the CPU if you're working with something like a USD $500 budget, which that budget could be allocated for a better GPU instead.

And of course, to put into perspective, a GTX 1050 Ti + Pentium G4560 combo is able to play PUBG at 1080p Low settings with respectable FPS, but I wouldn't count on this computer being able to run that game any higher settings assuming 1080p resolution. Either way don't expect to play Battlegrounds at any higher settings with either a GTX 950 or the GTX 1050 Ti, or any of the Radeon equivalents, it's still in early access and is rather demanding.

Did you also read this part?: "If you plan on giving him your old GTX 950 and Cooler Master N200 case, then subtract the Deepcool Tesseract and GTX 1050 Ti from the total cost."

And the OP gave me an idea of a low-end budget, so that's what I submitted. But if you want me to enlighten you a bit here.

And yes I'm aware you can get Windows 10 for cheaper elsewhere.
